Europe has ambitious plans for batteries, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing. But turning strategic ambition into industrial reality requires secure access to critical raw materials. As traditional supply chains face growing pressure, biomining is emerging as a potential new approach, from biological solutions that improve existing mining operations to entirely new models like phytomining, where plants extract metals from soil.
