Over the past decade, XR has produced extraordinary prototypes — from VR films to large-scale immersive installations. Festivals have played a crucial role as testing grounds for these new forms. But today, the question is shifting: where do these works actually live? As immersive storytelling moves beyond the headset, it increasingly enters theatres, museums, exhibitions, and public spaces. This session explores how XR is transitioning from experimental formats into real-world contexts — and what that means for artists, institutions, and industry. Bringing together perspectives from creation, venues, and production, the conversation looks at where immersive works meet audiences today, how they are sustained beyond the festival circuit, and what kinds of spaces might define the future of the medium. Speakers will be announced. +++ MUNICH Beyond is a cooperation between Festival der Zukunft and FILMFEST MÜNCHEN, supported by the FilmFernsehFonds Bayern (FFF). +++
