Artificial intelligence and quantum technologies are moving fast — but where is innovation really happening, and how can startups protect and scale their breakthroughs? In this workshop, the European Patent Office will provide a data-driven overview of the latest patenting trends in AI and quantum technologies, including a short presentation of the EPO’s new data desk covering both fields. The session will then explore how patentability is assessed for AI and software-related inventions. Together with startup and investor perspectives, the workshop will discuss how intellectual property can help deep-tech companies attract investment, build defensible technology positions and navigate the path from research to market.
