AI meets processes: From use cases to sustainable value

14:30 – 15:30

Thursday, 2 July 2026

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly being applied to support knowledge work and automate tasks. While many organizations have already taken important first steps with chatbots, content generation, and knowledge retrieval, sustainable business value emerges when AI capabilities are connected to operational workflows and business processes. Building on the previous talk “Beyond text and images: The next stage AI creates value from data and processes”, this interactive workshop explores the intersection of AI and business process management. We discuss how organizations can identify suitable use cases, where AI should augment existing processes, and when process redesign becomes necessary. Particular attention is given to the role of process-oriented thinking in translating AI capabilities into measurable business value and sustainable process improvements. Through practical examples and interactive discussions, participants will reflect on opportunities and challenges at the interface of AI and business process management. The workshop combines short impulses with experience sharing and aims to provide practical perspectives on how AI can move beyond isolated applications and become an integral part of business execution.
