Creativity in Dialogue: What Connects and Divides Artists and Scientists?

How can complex bioelectronic technologies become tangible beyond the lab? "Somatic Circuits" brings together researchers from Fraunhofer IZM, media artist Marlot Meyer, and curator Pierre Wolter in a collaborative exploration of bioelectronics through both scientific and artistic practice. Rather than presenting technology from a single perspective, the project creates a space where artists, scientists, and curators work together to investigate emerging bioelectronic concepts and the narratives surrounding them. In this moderated conversation, Marlot Meyer, Pierre Wolter, and researchers from Fraunhofer IZM will reflect on their shared process and discuss how artistic and scientific approaches can complement one another. Together, they will explore how bioelectronic technologies can be communicated, experienced, and debated – and how collaboration across disciplines can open up new ways of engaging with technological innovation. This session is designed as an open conversation. Audience members are invited to step into the discussion throughout the event, bringing their own questions, perspectives, and experiences into the exchange. Join us for an exploration of bioelectronics, creativity, and the role of art and science in shaping public dialogue around emerging technologies. “Somatic Circuit” was supported through the funding programme of the Fraunhofer Network for Science, Art and Design.
