A firesite chat with Vitalik Buterin and Amir Taaki

In 2013, a teenage Vitalik Buterin moved into Calafou, an anarchist cooperative outside Barcelona, to code alongside Amir Taaki — Bitcoin's first prominent developer, Dark Wallet creator, and the man who turned down the job of Ethereum's lead developer. The ideas born in that hack lab helped shape what became the world computer. Thirteen years on, crypto is embraced by Wall Street and governments, privacy developers face prison, and the two old friends have taken radically different paths: Taaki builds DarkFi, an anonymous "operating system for society" from the shadows, while Buterin fights to steer Ethereum back to its cypherpunk roots. Now they reunite on stage for a rare, unfiltered fireside chat: What did crypto get right? What did it betray? And is the revolution still on — or already sold?
