Radical Simulation: Video Games as Architectures of Control

12:00 – 12:45 Uhr

Donnerstag, 2. Juli 2026

An artist talk between Caldo Worldwide and the artist Vincent Moulinet. Video games are systems of constraint: structures of rules that determine what a body is permitted to do, and what it is not. This talk examines game design not as a neutral craft of entertainment, but as a form of architecture that organizes behavior through permissions, prohibitions, and rewards. Through examples from contemporary game design, the lecture explores how digital worlds function as simulations of governance, discipline, and control.
