We Don’t Need More of This* AI

There is a lot of talk about getting "more AI" in companies, schools, science, administration, and everyday life. At the same time, concerns are growing about its side effects. But more of what, exactly? This talk takes a balanced look, neither utopian nor dystopian, at AI as it becomes more than software: an infrastructure layer through which societies work, learn, discover, communicate, and decide. The real question is no longer whether we want more or less AI. It is which kind of AI we want, and what model of AI value creation we want. At stake is not just technology, but whether Europe has the agency to shape the future it will live in.
