Motion Capture Solutions for Artists & Indie Studios

The workshop aims to explore different motion capture (mocap) solutions for artistic projects and low-budget productions. We will look at the recording process and the fundamentals through the use of Depth Sensors, Optical tracking via Video and explore AI Tools as well as discuss how AI is influencing this technical sector. The recorded movements will then be examined in 3D software, applied and tested on various avatars. By offering the first practical experiences, the workshop is aimed primarily at media artists, performers, and developers who want to explore other possibilities for extending their creative projects at the intersection of art and technology. Who is it for? => media artists, performers, and indie developers. No prior experience with motion capture is required. Note: The meeting point for the session is the festival kiosk.
