Dennis Ballwieser

Dennis Ballwieser is a trained physician and journalist with experience in medical science, patient care and editorial work. Currently he is serving as an executive editor with Germany’s leading health-focused publishing company. Today he is focusing on delivering the best reliable, comprehensible, useful health and medical information for lay and professional audiences via all media channels (digital, print) and media forms (video, audio, text, photo, charts). Dennis Ballwieser has had the chance to learn from top physicians and scientists during his training at University of Munich and Yale University, and to learn from the finest editors at the German School of Journalism and at different media outlets, e.g. German daily “Süddeutsche Zeitung”, German public broadcaster “Bayerischer Rundfunk” and German news magazine “Der Spiegel”. After his training he worked in the Department of Anaesthesiology at University of Munich’s hospital and at SPIEGEL ONLINE, “Der Spiegel”’s digital news outlet, before moving on to “Wort & Bild Verlag”, where he is currently the managing director and the editor of its publications (e.g. “Apotheken Umschau”).
