In 2024, Marcel Barsotti made his debut as a film director with the highly acclaimed short film ‘Transformation’, an elaborate science fiction production made with artificial intelligence that deals with the question of the extent to which life can find peace in this universe or whether living beings are fundamentally capable of doing so permanently. The film received 12 international awards & 31 nominations. In 2025, Barsotti completed his second AI film, ‘IMPERIA,’ which celebrated its world premiere in Toronto in the autumn. The 36-minute, highly elaborate science fiction film has already won an award in Toronto and received eight international nominations. Barsotti began working as a music video director on various projects in 2020 and received the David Award (2023) for his electronic music video "The New Human" and the Onkyo Award (2023) for "Fields".
