Maria Kling builds doors into fascination and exploration. Her material is scientific phenomena and models, their beauty, implications, and parallels to current as well as eternal human topics. Her artistic practice at the intersection of art, science, society and technology, draws from her interdisciplinary background, which includes physics studies as well as fine art, information experience design and information theory. It centers the transformative exploration of scientific models and technologies through collaboration and connections to the human experience. She has collaborated artistically with research institutes and teams across a range of fields, including the Laboratory for Quantum Computing in Bristol, the Karolinska Institute, KTH, and the quantum photonics research group PHOQS at the University of Paderborn. Throughout the years, she has developed a methodology for identifying connection points from which to create meaningful projects across and beyond disciplines.
