Silke Schmidt leads the XR HUB Bavaria at its location in Munich, an initiative of Medien.Bayern GmbH. She aims at expanding the XR landscape in Bavaria, connecting people to stimulate new projects and making the Bavarian players nationally and internationally visible. The XR HUB Bavaria organises Workshops and Conferences, hosts Meet-Ups, and curates XR exhibitions like MUNICH Beyond, the VR Pop Up Cinema during the DOK.fest München or the new format "XR on tour". It works across different sectors, including arts and culture, education and training and industry. Before Silke’s position was at the Bavarian State Ministry for Digital Affairs in "Audiovisual Media - Film, Games and XR", and before that at the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs in the Foreign Trade Department. There she focussed on economic relations between Bavarian and US and Canadian companies, covering a range of topics from the media, digital and creative industries, energy and medicine to mobility and aerospace. --- Silke Schmidt leitet den XR HUB Bayern an seinem Standort in München bei der Medien.Bayern GmbH. Zuvor war Silke im Bayerischen Staatsministerium für Digitales im Bereich "Audiovisuelle Medien - Film, Games und XR" tätig, davor im Bayerischen Wirtschaftsministerium in der Abteilung Außenwirtschaft. Dort konzentrierte sie sich auf die Wirtschaftsbeziehungen zwischen bayerischen und US-amerikanischen sowie kanadischen Unternehmen und deckte dabei ein Themenspektrum ab, das von den Medien über Digital- und Kreativwirtschaft, Energie und Medizin bis hin zu Mobilität und Luft- und Raumfahrt reichte.
