Thomas Lange

Thomas operates at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and capital. Trained as an economist, he began his career at the ifo Institute for Economic Research before moving into a leadership role at acatech, Germany's National Academy of Science and Engineering. He went on to co-found the German Cyber Agency as its inaugural Chief Strategy Officer — architecting a new model for defense innovation inspired by DARPA. Thomas has served as Sherpa to the Federal Chancellor's Future Council and is a member of the World Economic Forum's Expert Network. Today, he focuses on high-impact technology investments at Achleitner Ventures and co-hosts DeepTech Unlocked, a 1E9 podcast. Thomas holds a PhD in Economics and is certified as both a Private Equity Analyst and an Independent Board Director.
