Miriam Klopotek
Independent Junior Research Group Leader
University of Stuttgart | Stuttgart Center for Simulation Science | SimTech Cluster of Excellence
Dr. Miriam Klopotek holds a doctorate in physics and is interested in profound connections between the complex behavior of many-particle systems and machine learning. Together with philosophers of AI, she is researching ways to explain machine learning algorithms using physical
concepts. She is also researching how the complex dynamics of physical systems can be used for unconventional computing and learning. Miriam studied at the Humboldt University of Berlin and the University of Tübingen. Upon completing her doctorate in Tübingen, she became an Early Career Group Leader there at the Cluster of Excellence for Machine Learning. She then came to the University of Stuttgart as an
Independent Junior Research Group Leader at the SimTech Cluster of Excellence. Miriam also worked in the industry for several years in between her studies.
