Sandra Vengadasalam

Sandra Vengadasalam is currently the Deputy General Manager and Digital Labs Lead at Max Planck Digital Library (MPDL), which has been deemed a central institution for the renowned Max Planck Society. Her digital laboratory team is known for their passion for innovation and excellence, relentlessly pursuing cutting-edge technologies and services tailored to the needs of scientists.

Sandra co-founded the scientific initiative "bloxberg," which developed into the world's largest public proof-of-authority blockchain network with over 50 research institutions as validators. Since late 2022, she is also the co-founder and CEO of blxb labs Company, a future service provider for very specific blockchain networks and decentralized applications in the scientific world.

Prior to joining the Max Planck Society, Sandra completed her PhD in molecular biology and biochemistry, specializing in Epigenetics and Chromatin Remodeling, and completed her postdoctoral research at the Adolf Butenandt Institute in Munich. Beyond her professional expertise, Sandra has a passion for music, with a penchant for playing the violin and harp.
