Peter Podrez

Dr. Peter Podrez is Assistant Professor at the Institute for Media Culture and Theatre at the University of Cologne. He completed his doctorate at the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg on the topic of visions of the future city with focus on literature, architecture and film. He is researching the colonization of space and its utopian and dystopian implications from a media cultural studies perspective. Further research fields include: science fiction, analog and digital games, media (studies) and museums, animal studies, horror studies, gender studies.

Peter Podrez was/is curating museum exhibitions on various topics in regard to media culture, including urban spaces in media representations, monsters in popular culture, avatars in video games or images of gender in analog and digital games. He is currently preparing an exhibition project on ecological games.
